about me
Hi, I'm Tanya. It's a pleasure to meet you.
I’m definitely not your typical yoga teacher (whatever that is?). I live in a curvy body, that I embrace fully and I love fast, hot cars. As a proud neurodivergent woman, death doula and spiritual guide, I bring a unique perspective to the work I do in the world.
I’m a super early riser, but you’ll find me tucked into bed early with a good book. I’m a mum to Laura(22) and Ewen(19) and am an almost “empty nester”. I’m also a dog mum to Enya, our sweet 15 year old golden girl. My husband says in his next life that he wants to come back as my dog!
When I’m not teaching or writing, you will find me pottering in my rose garden at dawn, talking to the birds and the bees, and savoring the quiet beauty of the world.
I love to dance, and am usually the first one on the dance floor, and the last one off it! And so much so, that I offer No Lights, No Lycra dance sessions in my studio, mostly for myself, but everyone is welcome!

I specialise in teaching restorative yoga and mindfulness because I believe these practices are a much needed refuge, in our fast paced and busy world, a way to nourish our bodies and minds, instead of depleting them. My classes are infused with mantra, poetry and deep care. While I honor all aspects of yoga, I definitely gravitate toward the psychology, philosophical and soulful traditions rather than the scientific or anatomical. My teaching approach is rooted in non-judgment and inclusion and I offer a safe and nurturing environment for self exploration and growth. I share wisdom from my own lived experience of overcoming an eating disorder, addiction and trauma, alongside 18 years of study in the ancient traditions of yoga and meditation.
I absolutely believe that midlife is a powerful portal - a call to wholeness and the perfect time to step into our most authentic, vibrant and sovereign selves. I love to walk alongside women who are hungry for more depth, meaning and joy in their lives, helping them to transform from the inside out. I also offer Sovereign Woman retreats from my beautiful Temple space, for which I am deeply grateful to share with others.
I believe we are spiritual beings having a human experience, and our time in Earth School is full of opportunities for healing and transformation. As we heal, we grow into more conscious, compassionate and peaceful human beings, and doesn’t the world need that right now?
Whether through my classes, poetry or retreats, I hope my work touches you in some way, big or small and reminds you of your innate capacity for healing, joy and wholeness.
I look forward to meeting you.
Tanya

My gratitudes
This business was created from the heart. But I could not have done it without the following beautiful people in my life…
My biggest thank you is to the kindest, funniest, gentlest man on this Earth — my hubby Pete — who has worked so incredibly hard to support me on my journey.
Heartfelt gratitude to Kathryn and Haydie who introduced me to the art of yoga and have encouraged my own yogic expression.
To my teacher and friend Celia, who saw the light in me and helped me fan it.
To my children, Laura and Ewen, who remind me every day of what is truly important.
To my brave sisters, Stacey and Gabby, you both have so much courage.
To Aunty Sue (my wise and funny godmother) for your care and friendship.
Deep gratitude to my funny, salt-of-the-earth, sweet, loving, inspirational girlfriends (I hope you know who you are). Having you in my life means the world and I cherish you all for the unique qualities you bring.
To my students for showing up not only for my classes but for themselves (and their parents) for guiding their children towards a positive future.
Thank you to Shannon Deutrom and Sweet Spot Images for the beautiful photos on this site.
And last but not least, to my mum and my dad, for giving me the precious gift of life. I miss you both every day.
Thank you all.
