Covid Fatigue

So many of us feeling the symptoms of Covid fatigue which are a result of the ongoing exposure to stress, uncertainty, and loss.

We are feeling tired, overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, depressed and have lost our motivation. We are exhausted, angry, and fed up.

There is so much division, chaos, grief, and heartache in the world at large and it is affecting us ALL in some way.

We are experiencing one of the biggest challenges we will ever go through in our lifetime, and possibly the history of humanity, on both a personal and collective level. It is more important than ever that we care for our own wellbeing on every level - mentally, emotionally, and physically.

We must take responsibility for our energy. Part of this is developing and cultivating the quality of “allowing” which is being able to be with “whatever is happening when it is happening” - without judgement and with curiosity and kindness.

When we are facing challenging times, when we feel like the pain of our situation and the world is too much to bear and feel, we tend to separate and shut ourselves down. This can lead to reverting to old coping mechanisms such as over-eating, drinking, shopping and gambling. These behaviours separate us even further from ourselves and from each other.

Our work as individuals during these times is to FEEL it all, to keep our hearts open and to stay connected.

The antidote to numbing, avoidance and stagnation is FEELING.

The antidote to tension, pressure, anxiety, and stress is to SOFTEN.

The antidote to depletion is NOURISHMENT.

Healing is always found in connection, not separation.

Our inner work is both individual AND collective - as we heal ourselves, we contribute to the healing of the WHOLE. This is the deepest essence and wisdom of yoga.

Slowing down, connecting to our bodies and our breath will help us to feel and remain stable, connected, and grounded through the ups and downs of our lives.

Let’s get off the treadmill of “doing” and step away from the chaotic pace of life.

Let us walk more slowly.

Can we observe this pause in our lives as an opportunity to reflect and become clear on what is really truly important?

What is working?

What is not working?

Where am I wasting too much of my life energy?

Who and what is draining me?

How do I want to feel?

We were not born to study, work and die with our lives revolving around a consumer driven clock.

We can no longer carry on this way.

The Earth is dying.

Humanity is crying out for integration and wholeness. Right now, it is our greatest responsibility to take care of ourselves and each other.
